Jim Burness is the founder, CEO and general manager of Aloha Charge and National Car Charging (NCC) and is considered one of the nation’s leading electric vehicle and charging experts.

With previous careers in both the automotive industry and the renewable energy sector, Jim launched Aloha Charge in 2012 to facilitate the build out of Hawai’i’s EV charging infrastructure in a wide variety of channels including hospitality, municipal facilities and multi-family dwellings. Today, the companies manage7000 ports nationwide across 900+ customers with installations in 48 states.

With offices in Honolulu and Denver, Jim is actively involved in many local sustainability communities and has worked closely with utilities to help facilitate our state’s transition to electrified mobility.

A graduate of The Colorado College and the University of Denver, he’s previously held positions at J.D. Power, American Honda, and Microsoft’s CarPoint.

Jim and his wife purchased their first electric car in 2012, and now they both drive fossil free.
